Life Out There

Conventional thinking is that to sustain "our" kind of life, there are a narrow set of conditions. If we perhaps generalize the definition of life to include anything that counteracts "local entropy" (spontaneously creating order where it otherwise might just be dust), then perhaps it can be contemplated that there are other "life" forms radically different from ours -- not carbon based, or otherwise.
